Mission Statement

The Film- und Medienfestival gGmbH (FMF) aims to firmly establish sustainable action in the company – in social, ecological and economic terms.

Values & Vision

The FMF is a not-for-profit limited liability company which has set itself the task of developing high-quality events to promote the film and media industry.

With our events, the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film and Animation Production Days, we bring the animation world together in Stuttgart once a year, allow ourselves to be fascinated by moving stories, people and technologies and celebrate the art of animation. We want to present animation in all its facets and diverse forms and provide filmmakers, producers and industry professionals with a place for inspiration, exchange and the development of new ideas and partnerships. The FMF has evolved over many years from its early days as a voluntary organisation to the founding of an association to today’s non-profit enterprise.

The following key values determine all our actions and are essential for us to realise our vision and pass on the inspiration to create sustainable change.

Diversity

We are fully committed to diversity and are convinced that diversity enriches our coexistence with others. Discrimination and racism have no place in our organisation (see also our “Code of Conduct” below).

Participation

We regard ourselves as hosts and strive to create an inclusive atmosphere in order to remove barriers step by step.

Sustainable Development

It is important to us that our current actions do not limit the opportunities of future generations. We accept the responsibility and will work to make the organisation and its events more sustainable on a continual basis.
As part of the implementation of APD, we ensure that we provide the necessary resources to fulfil all requirements of ISO 20121 in order to integrate sustainability systematically.

Promoting Young Talent

Promoting the next generations is particularly important to us. This includes creating attractive opportunities for young people. We would like to open up space for discussion to enable participants to echange ideas, share knowledge and establish networks.

Creativity, Innovation & Inspiration

We want to inspire, present new perspectives and provide stimuli with innovative topics. We are driven by creativity.

Integrity

We act responsibly, honestly and reliably and in accordance with the agreements we have made. This includes complying with legal obligations and laws.

Company Culture

Our passion and enthusiasm for the projects we help to realise are what jointly motivates and drives us. We are committed to fostering a warm, open and loyal team culture. We support each other even in stressful times and continually work to create a transparent and trusting working environment. Tolerance, appreciation and mutual respect are our key values. We want to maintain a rational, friendly and fair relationship with our colleagues and our business partners.

The FMF offers flexible working patterns as well as the possibility of remote working, enabling the organisation to adapt to the individual realities of our employees’ lives. Team-building measures include excursions and corporate benefits such as discounted membership in the JobBike scheme and further development opportunities which take individual needs into account.

Code of Conduct

Fairness and equal opportunities in front of and behind the screen are the non-negotiable core values for our organisation. We will not tolerate any form of written, verbal or physical violence, derogatory or discriminatory language, gestures or actions, nor any form of harassment, racism and sexism or other targeted comments based on gender, ethnicity, religion, origin or skin colour, sexuality, gender identity, socioeconomic class, impairment or age.

We reserve the right to deny access to our in-person and online programmes, venues and events to anyone who violates these rules. If you observe or experience discriminatory behaviour, please contact the management directly at mozer@festival-gmbh.de or by telephone on +49 (0)711 92 54 60.

We aim to create a safe, sustainable and inclusive environment in which unbiased and respectful interaction and exchanges are guaranteed.

Sustainability

The FMF strives to implement a sustainable event and corporate culture in both its programmes and its organisation in order to make a contribution to sustainable development. Our goal is to develop events that leave the smallest possible ecological footprint and provide added value to society. In this, we are guided by the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

More information regarding the sustainability strategy of APD you’ll find here.

For the first time in 2022, we issued a greenhouse-gas assessment for the FMF using the “Climate Protection in Cultural Institutions” programme of the Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Foundation. This calculation is serving as the basis for our climate protection work from 2023 onward and will be steadily and continually developed.

If you have any feedback or suggestions for how we can develop further, please contact us at: kontakt@festival-gmbh.de.
