First hybrid edition of the APDs successfully ended

The 16th edition of the Animation Production Days (APD), which took place for the first time this year as a hybrid edition, ended at noon on Friday, 6 May. In almost 700 individually planned meetings online and on site at the Landesmuseum Württemberg, 35 selected animation projects and possible collaborations were discussed. Representatives of the most important German and European TV stations such as ZDF, KiKA, WDR, SWR, Super RTL, BBC, RAI, DR, Canal+, France Télévisions and large international corporations such as Disney and WarnerMedia, Wildbrain, but also world distributors such as ZDF Studios, Sola Media, Global Screen, Jetpack, Zodiak and many others were looking for new material and talent at the APDs 2022.

We thank the 150 participants from 22 countries who took part in the first hybrid edition of APDs 2022!

As part of the cooperation between APDs and CARTOON, the European Association of Animation, two German TV series projects were again selected this year to receive a so-called WildCard and will thus be directly included in the selection of projects for the international TV pitching event Cartoon Forum, which will take place in Toulouse in September 2022. This year, these are the projects “Dino Fino” by German Film Partners and “Tiger and Bear” by Wolkenlenker.
