How to Register

Producer Programme (for producers wishing to present a project)

Producers wishing to present an animation project at APD have until 20 February 2020 to submit their project and register for the Producer Programme. Only one project per company can be submitted. A maximum of two people per company can be registered. The registration only becomes effective if the submitted project is selected for participation in APD 2020. It is only at this point that the participation fee for the registered person(s) becomes due.

Co-producers of projects that have been submitted for participation in APD can also register for the Producer Programme. The same rule applies: the registration only becomes effective if the submitted project is selected for participation in APD 2020. It is only at this point that the participation fee for the registered person(s) becomes due.

Submission deadline: 20 February 2020 (early bird: 30 January)

Producers submit their project via the online form and are informed by 4 March 2020 whether or not it has been accepted. If it has, the registration then becomes effective and the participation fee is due.

Terms and Conditions

Projects for APD 2020 must be submitted via the online form. The deadline is 20 February 2020 (early bird: 30 January). The following information, texts and files are required for submission:

  • Key company details incl. company profile (max. 800 characters)
  • Key project details (title, parties involved, format, genre, animation technique, target audience, etc)
  • Financing details (budget, partners)
  • Synopsis (max. 500 characters)
  • Director / producer notes (project USP, visual concept, cross or transmedia strategy, etc) (600 – 1000 characters)
  • Text “What we are looking for at APD” (max. 300 characters)

All texts and information must be submitted in English.

Files:

  • Photos of the registered participants (3x4cm at 300 dpi, jpg or tif)
  • At least 2 illustrations / film stills from the project (without text elements, in landscape format, 145x91mm at 300 dpi)
  • Filmographies of the writer, director, head of animation (if already appointed)
  • Company track record

From the submitted projects, a jury will select between 45 – 50 projects to participate in APD.

Selection criteria are creativity, innovation, potential for brand development, market potential, suitability for and openness to co-production. Project selection will be completed by 4 March 2020 at the latest.

Co-Producer Programme (for producers and studios without their own project)

Producers, studios, VFX and service producers looking for projects in which they can get involved can register for the Co-Producers Programme. A maximum of two people per company can register. The number of participants is limited.

For a limited number of producers not presenting their own project at APD, we can offer participation in the Producer Programme (i.e. the full APD programme including the Financing Market). To qualify for this, it is necessary to have a proven track record in international co-production. Participation in the Producer Programme without a project only makes sense for producers explicitly seeking projects in which they can become involved and who would like to meet as many other producers as possible. When we are planning the meetings with representatives from broadcasters, SVoD platforms, distributors and world sales agents, producers presenting their own project at APD will receive preference.

Registration deadline for both programmes: 20 February 2020 (early bird: 30 January)

  • APD Co-Producers Programme (excluding the Financing Market but including a day ticket for FMX & ITFS for Friday)
